We are the Palm Creek Sewing and Quilting Guild. The name symbolizes an all-inclusive group of individuals who wish to use the Sewing Room facility to enjoy sewing, quilting, or needlework of any type and form, whether by hand or machine at the Palm Creek RV and Golf Resort.
Mission Statement
Helping and encouraging our fellow sewers to communicate their skills through learning, love, friendship, outreach and caring.
Mission Statement
Helping and encouraging our fellow sewers to communicate their skills through learning, love, friendship, outreach and caring.
Our sewers and quilters are fortunate and proud to have our 'own building' here in Palm Creek. We enjoy each others company, and share our talents in a spacious room that includes large cutting tables, oversized ironing boards, numerous tables that will comfortably accommodate six sewers/quilters, and lockers and cubbies to house our machines and supplies. In addition, we have several design walls, a mini kitchen, onsite storage for the guild, a library, and a designated area for displaying upcoming projects and classes.
The Palm Creek Sewing Room
is located in Building F located on the north end of the street north of the golf pro shop. The hours are generally 9am to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm daily. Use of the sewing room is monitored by
volunteers.
All “residents” of Palm
Creek are welcome to use the facilities of the sewing room and are asked to
check in the sewing room for guidelines for use of space and equipment. Sewing machines are available for rental ($3/day for small machines, $5/day for the larger model)
and there are various tools available for use.
You are welcome to bring your own equipment and there is storage space available
on a “first come, first served” basis. The
Palm Creek sewers are a very friendly group and helpful with any project. Ask the monitor on duty if you have any
questions.
Membership in the Palm
Creek Quilt Guild is open to all residents of Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort. There is a $25 "user fee" to use the sewing room during the season.
Regular meetings of the
guild are generally held in season (November to March) every Thursday at 10:00am normally in the San Tan Room. Registration for classes begins at 9:30am. Everyone is welcome!
Classes and social events
are also scheduled throughout the season.
Monthly calendars listing all classes and events and are
posted in the sewing room. Nominal fees are charged for classes. The guild also does many community service
projects and holds an annual quilt show.
You are welcome to visit
the Sewing Room at any time it is open, chat with a monitor to get any additional
information you may need, and see what projects we are working on and the FUN
we are having.
We look forward to meeting you!
